Very often the Eee PC 1005HA is compared with the 1008HA Seashell model. Both netbooks have similar design with clamshell cover. However ASUS Eee PC 1005HA is a little bit thicker comes with a removable battery and is offered for a cheaper price. All of the ports are easy to access. The 1005Ha model also distinguishes through its preinstalled Eee Docking Software. It allows you to have quick shortcuts to different applications and utilities and digital content. The package consists of Eee Sharing (messaging, storage, data sync), Eee Vibe (media/music app, Eee downloads webpage), Tools and Xperience (voice command).
As most of modern netbooks, 1005HA comes with Intel Atom N280 1.66 GHz processor. It’s difficult to find something new in overall performance of this netbook. This type of processor allows performing all daily tasks, like listening to music, watching videos; web browsing, using Microsoft Office, composing emails, etc.
Moreover, Asus offers its own overclocking app called “Super Hybrid Engine”. It allows you to customize the pre-set profiles, so increasing the battery life by underclocking the processor or even overclock your processor a little bit from 1.66 GHz to 1.70 GHz.
The audio quality looks pretty good for a small 10-inch netbook. The sound is clean and loud, that is enough to fill a small room. It has minimum distortion effect on the maximum volume level.
According the manufacturer, the 1005HA provides about 10 hours of battery life without a charge. Naturally, it’s not a complete fact. Only in case you decrease all possible parameters to 70%-you’ll get up to 9 hours of instant working.
At first sight it may seem that this Asus model has nothing to be impressed by in comparison with other netbooks of this line. But if you examine this netbook more thoroughly, you’ll find it one of the best models from Asus Eee PC line.
