Before endeavoring to clean your laptop, it is better to read users manual for recommended procedure. Most manufacturers say that laptop requires cleaning only once a year but frequent users may clean their laptops more often. It is undesirable to clean a laptop with cleaning agents.

• Do not spray directly onto the fan. It could cause them to over spin.
• Move to I/O Ports after you clean the vents.
• Use cotton swabs to clean any accumulated dirt.
• Also compressed can be used to blow the remaining dust away.
• Be careful that you don’t blow the dust in I/O Ports.
• Turn off the laptop before you clean the display.
• Always use a smooth cloth to clean the display. A cotton t-shirt can be used.
• Do not use tissues or paper towels to clean the display.
• Never use ammonia based cleaners as they will leave a film behind.
• You can also purchase cleaning solutions designed for monitors.
• Do not spray on the screen. Spray on the cloth and then clean from left to right and top to bottom.
• You can also make your own solution. For the solution you will have to use water and isopropyl in equal proportion.
• It is better no to eat or drink while you are working. The keys may malfunction if any food or drink is spilled.
• You will also get dirt on your laptops keyboard even though if you don’t spill food or drink.
• Compressed air can also be used to clean the dirt on keyboard.
• Refer to users manual to find whether keys can be removed and cleaned. If you remove them, make sure that you put them back properly.
• Cotton swabs can also be used for cleaning in and around the keys.
